2005-2010 CONSOLIDATED PLAN AND F.Y. 2005-2006 ACTION PLAN

The City of North Miami’s 2005-2010 Consolidated Plan/Fiscal Year 2005-2006 Action Plan is now available for public review and comment, prior to submittal to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The Plan identifies the City’s housing and community development needs over the next five years and establishes strategies to address those needs. Funding to accomplish the objectives of the Plan will come from HUD’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnership (HOME) Programs.

The specific strategies identified in the Plan to address housing and community development needs are as follows; provide housing rehabilitation assistance; first-time homebuyer assistance; code enforcement; revitalization of commercial areas; improvements to public facilities such as parks, youth and senior centers; economic development; and social services for the City’s elderly, youth, and other at-risk residents.

The F.Y. 2005-2006 Action Plan describes the activities the City will undertake to accomplish the first year objectives of the Plan, and are listed below.

The Consolidated/Action Plan are available for public review and comment from July 4, 2005 to August 3, 2005 at two locations: 1) Community Planning & Development Department, 12340 NE 8th Avenue; and 2) North Miami Public Library, at 835 N.E. 132 Street. All comments must be in writing and sent to the attention of the CDBG /Housing Compliance Officer, City of North Miami, Community Planning & Development Dept., 776 N.E. 125th Street, North Miami, Florida 33161.
